Beginning the cook

With the element off, place the spoon on the element.
The key to cooking properly is to cook slow and thoroughly.
As the element begins to get hot, lift the spoon off the element.
Hold it half an inch above element, and shake it gently so that mixture shifts a bit in the spoon.
Move the spoon around the element so that all parts of it get really direct heat.
You want to get the entire mixture heated evenly and all chunks melting.
