I was thinking about updating to PHP5.2.x but some scripts might not work anymore (including this forum)
but php5 has some nice features which are not included in php4.7 so please tell me what you want ^^

I saw keep it the same, I don't think it is worth having a whole bunch of scripts break.

I say change, even though I don't get hosted here anymore. Its better to change now, and then when you try to code something later, and have it not work on the 4.7.x version beceuse it will only work on 5.2.x. That is my personal opinion, and new features are always good.

Have a radio option in the dhost login to determine which php version they want to run.

That or have one server run php 4 and the other php 5 and people can choose in their profile, and whichever they prefer, it moves them to that server.

I think that Jason's idea is a good one, give the people a choice as to what they want, and place them on an appropriate server according to their needs. (If that is doable for you Michael).

PHP5 has a lot of new functions, PDO, XML, SQLite... Object Oriented Programming is optimized and better too. I wonder if it can slow the server. You can disable some heavy functions.

How many servers does DHost have? If more than 1, PHP version selecting by users is a very good idea! Smiley If not, it would only slow the server and use more RAM.
