Hi
I'm going to upload my own songs to my dhost site and some stuff about myself (bio, softwares used etc.)  Cheesy
But I need to post the link to my song on other forums for suggestions and such things.
Is it ok to do so? Or it's kinda hotlinking?

you can link to a page where the users can download the media. This is fine.

What you are talking about is linking to your files. Hotlinking is the use of a linked object, often an image, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site.

example: you load Google's logo image on your site from google's servers. that is a hotlink and that would also be bandwidth stealing as you don't pay Google to host that image for your site to use.

however it is not hotlinking if you link to googles image from your site as your site does not download it.
