Hello Deluxe Host Community,

as you may have noticed we are having big trouble with the server. Infact it was a software error removing the hosted files.
I tried to "undelete" the files but it was not very successfull -> only a very few files have been recovered Sad

For the future, I plan to rent another server to be able to make regular backups of the user data.

But please be reminded always to make backups, I know you may missed it and that's why I'm sorry Sad I also missed to backup some parts of deluxe host which are gone now (the commenting system I forgot to backup  Roll Eyes so it is gone for the moment.

Mysql Data survived. Mysql is located on a different server and was therefore not affected.

The wind of damage... Nevertheless i will still stay on DHost. Smiley

What has happened? Filesystem error? Third-party software bug? Virus? Trojan? Hardware issue?

I hope everything will work properly after the upgrade. I cannot access phpMyAdmin - only directories have remained. BTW: Does DHost support PDO library for MySQL?

Msc: Sorry, we can't do that for you. You do realize that if we could, you would be losing information such as members topics, and posts? It seems like you've installed mods to your forum since your backup; your problem will be fixed when you re-install them.

Michael, instead of renting another server, perhaps you could install a feature where users can download their complete website as a zip archive. The zip file, when created, would be placed in a secured temporary folder and gets deleted after an hour of creation.

Just create a tool for creating backups and run it before you update the software. Smiley

I have lost old version of CMS which was installed before the crash so I for 90% the new version will be installed that requires PDO. I may also make a bridge to old mysql_* functions.

PDO is an universal library for databases. It supports prepared statements, transactions and results iteration (instead of while we can use foreach). More info: http://www.php.net/manual/pl/intro.pdo.php
