I'm building a site right now that's going to need a dedicated paid host. I was wondering what other people have found.
My requirements are:
Must have PHP, MySQL. Some form of db management system like PHPAdmin. I don't like CPanel, so it's better if it doesn't have that.
Also I need the host to accept payment through Paypal.

Suggestions?

sameprices and you get less at AsmallOrange... :rolleyes: Not really. Because I pay month-by-month A Small Orange is better in the short run. At SiteGround their monthly plan is $8.95 + $19.95 setup, their $4.95 per month is only if you sign up for 2 years, and I'm not willing to do that.

Even if ASmallOrange may cost a bit more, I think it's worth the reliability and ease of use. I'm using PowWeb right now which, sure, gives you a lot - 20GB of space? But the constant problems from it just aren't worth saving a few dollars; at that, the downtime and slow periods really aren't what I expected from paid hosting. So yeah, it might cost a bit more but I think quality should be considered alongside quantity.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to stop paying for hosting though. I'm going ot see if the the university I go to will give me some more space (I already have some, though technically it's not for hosting) and permission to host. Since I'm already paying to go here I think it might work out.

Well, I recommend https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/, I use them and it's great. You only pay for what you use. I think my bill is something like 1 or 2 cents each day. I have only had about 10 minutes of downtime combined for an entire month, so they're good by my book

@jjb123
That site looks very interesting. I just read through their FAQ. If I want to go back to paid hosting I'll definitely look into them.
