Brumml, my Land Rover
Brumml is an exmilitary Land Rover 110 2.5D hardtop. He began his life in 1989.
Then he was driven by the British Forces in Berlin (that's why he is LHD).
The PO bought him in 1991 with only 36000km on the clock, when they left the city.
I bought him in July 1995 with 56000km.
Brumml has some features his civilian brothers normally don't have:
- Jerry can compartments at the sides,
- Manual steering (no leaking PAS pump ;-),
- Expensive side and rear light glasses,
- Two spare tire mounts (on the rear door and on the bonnet).
The PO did some modifications:
- Repaint in civi style in sand and limestone.
- Add sliding windows to the sides.
- Fit new seats with neckrests.
- Insulate the HT with closedcell PU foam.
- Add checker plates on the wings.
I added:
- A front center seat.
- Some basic camping stuff (boxes and table).
- A selfmade snorkel with precleaner cyclone.
- H4 headlights (I actually see something at night).
- K&N air cleaner. It didn't change the fuel milage, but at least I don't
have to buy those redicularly expensive paper filter elements any more.
