Meaning no "I made this layout in 5 minutes and you can tell" layouts, decent, thought out content, and personality.

Your site must NOT have any messenger talk!!!
i.e. lol, lmfao...etc. Also no wRItInG lIkE tHiS. It hurts my eyes and that doesn't make your site look too professional. I ask that you have correct grammer most of the time. A few mistakes are ok.
Onto the subject of swearing...
Mild swearing (hell, damn... etc.) is ok... But if every other sentence all I see is f****, B****, F*****, etc... your site will be declined. If you already were an affiliate and your site spontaneously started to have a swearing spree (that sounds weird) then it will be removed.
To summarize...
Don't have anything on your site that would be considered above PG15 (I wonder of that exists?). I always welcome affiliates and I have no limit on how many I will take (I always welcome new friends), but it is a rather picky subject for me for some reason.
