Advances in antimatter production and containment in the early 22nd century led to the establishment of the Warp 5 Complex in 2119, to develop the next generation of warp craft. Previous generations of warp craft were powered by deuterium-fusion reactions, limiting their warp factors. Craft capable of warp 5 would generate speeds that would make exploration and commerce outside the handful of stars around Sol a practical reality for Humanity, starting with the Pathfinder class of warp 5 explorers. The first Pathfinder to be launched, Constitution, would later have the famous Constitution class of starships named for her.
These pioneering ships lacked the conveniences of today's vessels, including deflector shields, transporters, and were armed with simple particle accelerator beams and fusion warheads for protection. Yet the efforts of their builders and crews would open the path for today's way of life, spanning the stars...
Pathfinder Explorer Mod Info:
Last spring What! emailed me suggesting a TOS-styled NX-01 Enterprise, something that's been extrapolated my numerous Star Trek designs sites, but it hadn't occurred to me that nothing's been done for it in KA. I had an abandoned NX mesh that I hadn't skinned, so the task seemed simple... until I realized exactly how much would change in regards to this ship when put in the proper context. Not only the look, but also the history and even the ship's name had to change to conform to proper continuity! I've written 2 short articles, linked below, to outline the design changes and some historical revisions that were necessary. Hey, if Paramount can take a revisionist attitude, why can't we? ;)

This mod is intended as a replacement for the NV-01 Constitution in my Pathfinder mod pack, just in case someone prefers the name Enterprise over Constitution. Note that this overwrites the existing Constitution slot, so remember to back up the original installation zip before proceeding.
