Embassy

To join an alliance, you need an embassy. Also, when you have a level 1 embassy, and level 5 main building, you can construct a palace.
At level 3, you may found your own alliance. You can have three more members for every level you increase your embassy. An embassy in multiple villages can create culture points. When you start an alliance, the level of your embassy gives +3 more memberslots to your alliance, the higher the level the more the members can join.

Alliance

A. Joining an alliance:

When the construction of your embassy is finished, you may receive invites from other players. The invite appears in the embassy, so in order to join, you must click on your embassy building and then click Join. An alliance is a grouping of Travian players that have similar goals. An alliance can range from very peaceful to very aggressive.

Here is a list to consider when joining:

  • Join an alliance with many members near your city: this facilitates communication, reinforcements, and trade. Some alliances are based primarily on location.
  • Join an alliance that has active members: when joining an alliance you should go to an alliance with many active members. This helps because, when your leader asks favors you are readily available, and when you ask favors, there is almost always someone on to respond to you.
  • Join an alliance that reflects your views on gameplay; if you are a very peaceful player, do not join an alliance that is at war all the time, and vice versa.
  • Before accepting an invitation to join an alliance, look at your situation and all your other alliance possibilities. A better alliance might be out there for you. But once you join, please think very carefully before deciding to quit by joining a different alliance; your old allies, especially if they have members near you, may farm you mercilessly, or worse, catapult you into oblivion.
  • If you are active and make decisions that empower you and your alliance and follow the alliance's rules, your leader might promote you.

Creating an Alliance

When your embassy is at level 3, you may start your own alliance. Your alliance can be a grouping of friends, a group that has similar goals, or a valuable partner. Some Alliances may range from very peaceful to very aggressive. It is up to the creator to decide.

Title: The Title of your alliance is crucial to how people view it, such as the Fluffy Sheep alliance would not be an aggressive alliance. The Venom is a name for an aggressive alliance.

Tag: The Tag is the abbreviation of your title; this makes finding your alliance easier.

Description: The Description describes your alliance. In this you should post all your friends (allies), known neutrals (NAPS), and enemies (at war with). Some alliances have art on their description. This art is their crest/logo. Also post what you do, your rules, and requirements to join. To hook people into your alliance you must persuade them with your alliance's appearance.

Ranks: When a person views your alliance's profile, they can see every member, and who is in charge. You may assign ranks to people in your alliance. You may have a rank for every member as you please. Ranked members appear above the non-ranked members.
The rank you start with is the default rank: Founder. You may change it as you please.

The options you are allowed are:

Assign a Position
Change name
Kick player
Change alliance's description
Alliance diplomacy
Invite player
Link to Forum (exterior)
Disband alliance (quit)

Usually ranks allow better organization between alliances. Leaders choose to have a person for each of the above options. Helpful ranks include:

Founder (leader): This is you, or your leader. The Founder's task is to maintain the alliance with every job.

2nd command (leader) (optional): The secretary of the leader, who takes charge when leader is away. This person has the majority of power, but is limited.

Diplomat: The member who focuses on the treaties given by other Travian players. He usually is the one that talks to other alliances.

Recruiter: The member who scouts the lands for people to recruit. This player is the marketing player, who draws more people in.

Guard (optional): This member is the alliance's strongest player, who would help protect any and all members.

Advisor (optional): Similar to the diplomat, but often helps maintain the alliance. This person is valuable when both leaders are away.

General (optional): The member who is in charge of war operations. This person organizes attacks for the alliance. He is similar to the guard, but more of an attacker.

Forum Administrator: The player who takes charge of the In Game Forum, or Exterior Forum. This person helps moderate the forums for better organization.

Head of group (optional): If you have many members, this option could help. The head of group is a leader of certain players. He can usually be seen as a "Lead Captain" who is in charge of the "captains" of the alliance. He would take charge of messaging their section.

Diplomacy

[Ally]: Part of the Diplomat's role in the alliance is to create treaties with other alliances. The [ally] is an alliance with another alliance, they are your friends. To ask an alliance for friendship, go to options and select [alliance diplomacy]. An offer would be sent to the leader of the next alliance, and that person would either agree or disagree. Send messages when asking about this option before actually sending it. Other players like to know what's going on.

[NAP]: another diplomat job. NAP stands for Non-attacking-pact. This is good when a majority of members from one alliance is attacking your alliance. NAPS are neutral terms with two alliances saying they cannot attack each other.

[war]:Your enemies: these are the people who you are always attacking. Avoid this option unless you want to start a war.

Note: [War] is for stronger alliances not fresh onces, try to start [NAP] and [Ally].

Diplomacy allows players in Travian: better chances in trade, developed friendship, a friendly environment, and a strong alliance. Loners do not succeed as well as alliances.
