From Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can edit

You can start a battle by clicking on the Send Troops in others' village view. After that you will get a page which shows all existing troops in your village. Select how many units of each type of troop you want to send and then select the way you want to attack. Difference of the 3 attack types:

1. Reinforcement -> Send your troops to help someone. Selected by default.
2. Attack: normal -> You want to kill all troops in the target village and then get whatever resources you can have. The attack won't stop until one side's troops have all been killed.
3. Attack: raid -> This is to steal resources in the target village. If there are any troops in the village, impact will occur and cause loss of troops to both sides.
