From Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can edit

Clay is one of four resources in Travian. It is harvested from clay pits. Clay is stored in a warehouse. When one of the clay pits reaches level 10, a brickyard may be created which will boost clay production.
