Conquering a VillageFrom Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can editWhen you want to conquer a village, think if it is worth the cost, I would not recommend to conquer any village smaller than 400 in pop size. You can only conquer a village without a palace or residence, except if the player has only one village. Residence villages can always be destroyed with catapults and therefor be conquered by a senator when the residence is gone, except if the player has only one village. Palace can only be destroyed when the player has 4 or more villages. Only in that case it can be conquered after taking down the palace completely. Always sent troops along with a senator. Even if a village has no army, no walls and no residence or palace, it would still die on its own. A senator takes away loyalty ONLY if there is no residence or palace in the village. So now a few tricks and a scenario how a conquer/defense game could look like. Call the attacker with senator A and the defender B 1: A scouts first the defence buildings and if there is a palace or residence. (in this scenario it is palace) and troops. Lets assume arrival time of 12h:00m:00s for your senator at his village 2: A sents only troops (including rams!) to disarm his army if there is a lot, otherwise this step can be skipped (to prevent loss of catas). 11h:59m:56s 3: A sents offensive (less than in step 2) troops plus catas and rams to destroy walls and palace. 11h:59m:58s 4: A sents senator plus some troops. 12h:00m:00s Loyalty goes down. 5: make sure to scout in between your arrival back home of troops and before you sent them back again. He might have seen the attack and asked for reinforcements. Though there is no residence or palace you think. But realize the further the target is away the more change he gets to rebuild defensive buildings, troops and ask for help. 6: Now a common mistake, would be just to sent the senator again, even with lots of troops to lower loyalty again. So you could repeat 2-4 again to be safe right? It covers for reinforcements, for rebuilding the palace. Well to disappoint you against a smart opponent that is online you will make the trip for nothing Instead of rebuilding the palace, what you targeted for, he would drop in a residence this time and your catas will destroy something you did not want to destroy and the senator comes for nothing. So what do we do now? If he was offline and did not rebuild anything, you do not severely damage something else. If he was online and rebuilded any of them you take it down so your next to arrive senator can lower loyalty again. So repeat these steps till the village is yours, including step 3a and 3b. Some more facts to know, loyalty rises hourly if there is a residence or palace, and the speed it rises the higher its upgrade. It is also wise to have more senators (from different villages of your own or do it together with others) ready as if more senators arrive at a village the faster the loyalty falls down and the less chance he gets to get reinforcements. |
