[edit] Controlling Travian[edit] How can I cancel actions?A: If you started building something or if you sent your troops away there will be a red X besides the notification. By clicking it, the action will be undone. Warning: You will lose resources if you stop a building higher than stage 1! Attacks can only be stopped within the first 90 seconds. [edit] What are direct links?A: Direct links are abbreviations used to connect different parts of Travian. You can create them yourself if you use Travian Plus. Just select your profile settings and then you have to fill in the links into the appropriate areas. [edit] How do I rename my (new) village?A: Select the (new) village and click the 'Statistic'-button (the blue one) and choose your name. Then click the “profile” button and you will find an area named “Name of the Village“ where you can write down the new name of the village. [edit] Where do I find InGameMessages and reports?A: The Button in the upper right corner in Travian is divided into two parts, the left for reports and the right for IGMs. [edit] How do I use the map?A: On the Map the villages of the different players are marked with different colors. yellow – your village; green – villages of your alliance; red – other players villages; light grey – inactive villages. [edit] General[edit] Does the game keep building even after logging out?A: Yes, your buildings will be finished even if you are logged out. [edit] Do you keep aquiring resources after logging out?A: Yes, you keep getting resources while you are logged out. [edit] How many times a day do I get resources?A: Your production is listed in resource per hour. Therefore you have to calculate: 60 (60min = 1 hour) / resource production then you know how often you get new resources. [edit] Can I be attacked when I'm not logged in?A: Yes, others can raid you while you are offline. [edit] Is there any way to change the tribe if accidently clicked on the wrong one at register?A: No, there is no direct way to change your tribe after registering your account. But if you really want to change it then you can delete your account and register a new one with another tribe. But beware you have to start from zero again! [edit] Is there any mode to handle an account when the owner is on vacation and can not log in?A: There is the option that you can ask some of your Travian playing friends (they have to play on the same server) to manage your account for the time of your absence. You have to enter your profile settings (statistics->your name->Account) there you can select a so called 'sitter' who will manage your account. But keep in mind that he can do almost anything you can do in your village. To log into the sitted account just type in the absent player's name and your password into the login field at the beginning. The sitter is able to do the following things in the sitted account:
The sitter can't do:
Choose your sitter carefully because the account owner will be charged for everything the sitter might do or not do!
[edit] Is there a beginner protection?A: Yes, you can’t be attacked in the first few days. The duration depends on the the runtime of the current round. In addition, your capital (the village with the palace) can’t be captured as long as you own four or fewer villages. [edit] Which buildings can be built?A: You have to fulfil certain conditions to build new buildings. You can look up the conditions in this graphic. The use of the buildings can be read in the instructions pages. [edit] How often do I get new resources?A: That depends on your production. The numbers you see below “Production” show your resource production per hour and the higher the production, the more resources you get. The resource production is continuosly generated on the server (even if you aren’t online) and to make this process visible in your browser you might have to reload the page by clicking on a button e.g. the village centre or F5. [edit] Why am I getting so few crops?A: Units and buildings consume food. The value displayed is the production or in other words the resting amount that is stored in the village. [edit] Travian looks different since today and I miss some functions which I was able to use before. What has happened?A: What you miss is Travian Plus – you can get it by clicking the colourful button “Plus” in the upper right corner and following the instructions. [edit] Missing Plus-Coupons or other Plus related questions.Regarding missing Plus-Coupons: Please write a mail to plus@travian.com with following information included.
[edit] Can additional villages be founded?A: Yes, that’s possible but you need settlers, which can be build in your palace or residence. In addition, a certain amount of culture points (you can look them up in your palace or residence) are needed. [edit] Can I conquer other villages?A: Yes, that’s possible, too. You need a Senator/Chieftain/Chief, which you can build in your palace or residence, to do so. To take over an enemy village you need a certain amount of culture points (you can look them up in your palace or residence). [edit] Can I lose a village?A: If you own only one village, no. If you have less than four villages, your capital (the village where you built a palace) is protected against other players who try to conquer it. The other villages can be conquered by an enemy's Senator/Chieftain/Chief. [edit] By which tribe will the conquered village be inhabited?A: The inhabiting tribe of the village taken over is the tribe of the new owner. Even if a Teuton took over a roman village, only Tueton units can be built in the newly conquered village. [edit] When owning multible villages, how are the resources managedA: Each village has its own warehouse. You need salesmen to move your resources between your villages. [edit] What do I have to do if I don’t want to play anymore?A: You can just stop playing and after a short while (depending on your inhabitants) your account will be set to inactive. A little bit later your account will be deleted. If you want to delete your account directly, you have to click the delete button in your profile settings. [edit] May players with bigger cities support players with smaller cities?A: Yes, development aid is allowed as long as the greater supports the smaller – but just that way. Sending resources from smaller to bigger accounts (trading is allowed) is forbidden and will be punished. [edit] How do I get a higher population?A: Each building increases the population of your village to a certain number of new inhabitants. The amount of new inhabitants produced by raising/extending a building is shown next to the symbol [edit] Where has my crop gone?A: One of the early problems that many players have is resource management - particularly that of crop production. This is often noticed when going to the field screen and seeing the production list [edit] Army and Protection[edit] What do I need to train soldiers?A: You need barracks level one and therefore a rally point level one and a main building level three [edit] How do I train troops?A: You need at least a rally point at level 1 and a main building at level 3. Then you can raise barracks and there you can train infantry. [edit] How fast do my troops move?A: As fast as the slowest unit in your army. [edit] When can better infantry and cavalry be built?A: In general the units are researched in the academy, but to find out the specific requirements of the different units you have to look at the instruction where you can choose the specific tribe and click onto the unit symbol. Then a pop-up will open to show you the wanted information. [edit] What's the difference between normal attack and raid?A: NORMAL: Your units and your opponent's units fight until one of the armies is eradicated. RAID: Only some of your units are killed. If the defender has many more troops than you do, all of your men will be killed. The Bounty is always the same if your units can carry enough, but depends on the number of surviving soldiers. [edit] Can I choose which resources should be stolen?A: They get what they find. You can't choose which kind of resource your troops should prefer. [edit] Two types of units are marked with “special requirements” – what does this mean?A: The special requirements are an academy level 20 for the Senator/Chieftain/Chief and for the settlers a palace or residence level 10. [edit] How do I defend my village?A: As long as there are troops (your own or troops sent to reinforce you) in your village they defend your village automatically. [edit] Can buildings be attacked or destroyed?A: To destroy buildings (or resource fields) catapults or trebuchets are needed. The accuracy the catapults are aiming with can be enhanced by upgrading your rally point. The city wall, the picket fence or the earth wall can be destroyed with rams. With normal soldiers, buildings can’t be destroyed. To destroy a building you need as many catapults or trebuchets as the stage of the building you want to destroy. [edit] What do I do with scouts?A: You have to send scouts alone or with other scouts together but never with other troops. Then you can choose between the options to spy out the enemy troops and resources or the enemy troops and defence. If your scout(s) survive their mission you will get a report about the requested information. [edit] An enemy army is on the way to my village, is there any way to get information about these troops?A: No, there is no way. Even a scout can’t help you now. [edit] Can I stop troops after I sent them away?A: You can stop them within 90 sec after you sent them away. Later on they are out of reach and will fulfill their mission. [edit] Can troops of village “a” with troops of village “b” be combined?A: No, that’s impossible but you can support other villages with your troops. Troops of different villages can’t be combined (prevented by the administrator). [edit] What happens to units which I sent away to support another village and the village gets taken over?A: The units don’t think much of you anymore, so they go to drink some beer and will stay away from battle and their former home village – that means that you have lost them and they won’t serve anyone. [edit] How do I get reinforcements back?A: Look at your rally point. [edit] Why do my troops plunder so few resources?A: There are two explanations: Each troop type can only carry a certain number of resources, and your victim might have a cranny where his or her villagers automatically hide a certain amount of resources that your plundering hordes cannot find. [edit] Buildings[edit] When is it possible to build other buildings?A: In the instructions there is a list where you can look up the requirements for other buildings but there is also a graphic which is better in some ways. [edit] How can I build a rally point?A: The rally point and the wall can only be built at certain locations. The rally point is next to your village's center on the right on the meadow. [edit] How do I build city walls/earth walls/pricked fences?A: You have to click the surrounding circle of your village. [edit] Who puts my resources into the cranny if I’m under attack?A: You can’t do it your self but the game itself will bring your resources into the cranny. Only a certain amount of units per resource can be stored in the cranny, depending on its extension stage. Warning: The Teutons have a plunder bonus so the enemy cranny will only save 2/3 of the normal amount. [edit] Why should I build an embassy?A: With this building you can join or found an alliance. Even if the embassy is destroyed you will stay in the alliance and if you are the founder the alliance will continue to exist. [edit] Are there any further features in an upgraded embassy?
[edit] Which options do I have if I have built an embassy?A: At first you have to select your embassy in the village centre. Now you can found a new alliance (requirement: embassy stage 3) or you can join an alliance (requirements: embassy stage 1 and an invitation). [edit] About the alliance options:
[edit] The activities of the different members are marked with different coloured circles.
[edit] Does an embassy which is build by an alliance member increase the member limit?A: No, only the alliance founder can increase this limit. [edit] How do I use the marketplace?A: Every time you upgrade your marketplace you will get an additional salesman. If you send them away he just brings resources to one point but never will take anything back home. You can accept the offers of other players or just offer things yourself. The salesmen of the different tribes can carry a different amount and have a different velocity. [edit] Do you need to be from the same tribe to form alliances or trade?A: No, you don't need to have the same tribe [as other players] to form an alliance or to trade [with them]. It is even an advantage to have an alliance consisting of different tribes to combine their strengths. [edit] What are the blacksmith and the armoury for?A: In these buildings you can upgrade your units. The buildings themselves can be upgraded up to stage 20. The way those upgrades improve the units can only be made visible with Travian Plus. [edit] Do I have to do the researches in every village I own or are they available in every village I own?A: You have to do the researches in every village. [edit] Where is the difference between a palace and a residence?A: If you only have one village, it can not be conquered, regardless whether you have a palace, residence or nothing in it. If you have at maximum three villages, the ones with residences can be conquered, the one with the palace can not. If you have four or more villages, each of them can be conquered. Therefore you should usually build the palace in your main/first village. This 'can not be conquered' doesn't mean that palace is invulnerable to siege weapons, though. It only means that it can't be bombed away, thus, it is possible to bomb it down e.g. from stage 15 to stage 1, but not destroy it entirely. [edit] There are buildings like bakery, mills or further secondary industries. What do these buildings do?A: They increase your production by 5% each level. There are 5 levels of these buildings so you can increase your production by 25%. [edit] Will I loose resources when I cancel a building (resource fields and city buildings)A: Only when you cancel a stage 1 upgrade (from 0 to 1) you will get your complete resources back. But if you cancel an upgrade to a higher stage you will loose resources. For example: 'Level 5 - Level 4 = resources you will loose'. In addition the time that has past doesn't change the amount of resources you will loose when you cancel a building. [edit] Are resource fields buildings? Will the time it takes to build or upgrade a resource field be reduced when I upgrade my main building?A: If you upgrade your Main Building your city buildings and the resource fields will be built faster afterwards. But resource fields are not buildings. |
