From Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can edit

Given the tendency for people to enter times for those items whose base time was not provided in the Travian docs, and which have variable time, I think there is a fair demand for this.

I think the latest effort shown on this page to add that data is probably done in a fair approximation of the right way - enter a time, based on the lowest level of buildings which affect the time, and say what that building level is. This way, people will have a ballpark estimate, at least, which will not be less than the actual time it takes them to develop the item.

It could be nice to have the base time, assuming level 1 in the buildings upon which the item's build time depends. However, we may not be able to get that accurately, due to rounding and other factors, and the time plus pertinent building levels method gives us an exact, verifiable number.

Upgrade/Research

The costs listed here are for researching troops, aren't they? How about the costs for upgrading troops in the Armoury and Blacksmith? Are they anywhere in Travian Wiki? May I start a page with they?

Time placement

Well in the units section there are listed times based on barracks, stable, workshop, palace/residence levels. Maybe that makes putting times here useless. Besides that I don't think we should put information like this in the discussion section. I mean it is not realy beeing discussed anyway since these times are plain facts. So I would say just delete them here or put the times next to their costs.

It might be a nice idee to make a link to the main page to the units page. Just like there is a link to the buildings page. Seeing that the unit pages are starting to contain alot of information.

"Tutorial" vs. troop pages

The cost of researching a certain troop seems even more integral to the troop than its upgrade costs. Yet upgrade costs get posted to troop pages, while we must come here for research costs. That doesn't seem to make any sense. This isn't even a Tutorial, really, just a place to dump numbers. I added the costs to a page before I found this page, but I don't want to add them to others if there's a reason these are separate. Can anyone explain it? Braingeyser 18:52, 24 April 2006 (EDT)
