From Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can edit
Travian has three tribes that can be selected when a new account is created. Romans and Gauls are suggested for new players. The choice of the tribe changes what units are available, speed and capacity of merchants, and building advantages!
