Tutorials:Getting StartedFrom Travian v2 Wiki (S2-S6), the encyclopedia anybody can edit[edit] How to Get Started in Travian!Welcome to the wonderful world of Travian!
As a new player you have 7 days of newbie protection. This means that no one can attack you for one full week.If you want to know exactly when it expires click on the In-Game Messaging button and look at the date and time of the welcome message. Your 7 day protection period will end exactly 7 days after this date and time. During this time you do not need to worry about protecting yourself so you should concentrate on building your resources up.
Below each resource you will see a number like this: 800/800 - Showing you have 800 resources and can hold a maximum of 800 resources. The first number will increase by the amount of resources per hour you are producing and decrease as you use resources by building, and the second number will increase (carrying capacity) as you build Granaries and Warehouses. The
You can begin the game by clicking on the button that brings up the resource fields. You should see 4 brown clay pits, 4 green woodchoppers, 4 grey iron mines, 6 yellow crop fields and your village in the centre. Your net production is listed on the right. Clicking on a hexagon will bring up that resource, here it tells you how much your production will increase and the cost of upgrading. You can only upgrade 1 resource hexagon at a time (if you're a Roman you can also build a building during this time, other tribes cannot). It's a good idea to not only keep your production levels around the same (i.e. between iron, clay, etc.) but also amongst resource fields (i.e. having 3 level 2 fields and 1 level 1 one, rather than one level 4 and 3 level 0, at least for now).
[edit] A Step by Step ExampleLet's try increasing your crop production and see what happens: First, find a crop field and click it.You will see the current production for this field (per hour) and what production will be after you increase this field. Below this you will see what resources it costs to increase this field, how much crop the new field will use per hour and how long it will take to upgrade this field. And below this you will see either a green link signifying that you have enough resources to upgrade or a message explaining why you cannot upgrade at this time. Click [[the green link and Travian will start upgrading your field. That's all there is to it!
